‘Visual
Anthropology Course specializing in Indigenous Rights’ (Level I) and Course
on ‘Visual Anthropology, Film and Mass Media´, convened by CIESAS-Sureste,
CESMECA-UNICACH, the University of Manchester (UK) and the University of Florida
at Gainesville (USA). This course was funded by the National Indigenous Institute
(INI), PACMYC, the British Council and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and took
place between October 2 and December 2, 2000, on the CIESAS-Sureste campus with

- Video
recording workshop organized and given on October 15-20, 2001, by Axel Köhler
for Lacandon youths in the community of Nahá, Lacandon Forest, Chiapas,
in collaboration with the Na Bolom Cultural Association.
- Scriptwriting
workshop given on April 2 and 3, 2003, at the CIESAS-Sureste campus by David
Ruiz, independent filmmaker from Los Angeles, USA, also guest researcher at
CIESAS.
- Video
production workshop undertaken November 3-7, 2003 in La Albarrada in San Cristóbal
de Las Casas, Chiapas. The workshop was led by Rafael Rebollar Corona, a Mexican
independent filmmaker (Trabuco Productions, S.C), organized in conjunction
with the ‘Boca de Polen’ Communicators’ Network, Civil Association,
and financed by CONACULTA.
